Limerick form can be strict asto  syllables and meter but is genearlly accepted more loosely provided it sticks to the AABBA rhyme scheme and the first line contains a person and place.It is especially valued if the final rhyme line contains a twist.

There was a young man from France who led his friends a fine dance Some thought him a prude others said he was rude Looking at him quite askance
