Limerick Contest

I'm going to enter a poem contest.
Never wrote a Limerick, I must confess.
I might as well try,
Only God and I know why
I always try to compete with the best.

This poetry style is brand new to me.
I need to expand my vocabulary.
Not sure what to say
Hope to finish today
Will anyone ever call this poetry?

PoetrySoup has been so fun to join.
I'm sure by now, I've become annoying.
Which lines need to rhyme
Do I have enough time
And where the hell is this poem going

Now's the time to let this poem end.
I could lose every poet as a friend
Don't let anyone review
I'm just want to get through
Maybe this poem won't get entered in.

I hope this is the poems last verse.
There's no way I could make it any worse.
Now I need to hide
Anxiety's killing me inside
Would someone please call me a nurse.
