SP, I knew nothing of Lilith in biblical literature until now. It's interesting to read this and the history. Thanks for raising my awareness with such poetry. I would be interesting to meet her, and your poem is like an introduction.

Oh, that last line hit a nerve. I love how you structure your poems. Effortlessly perfect and smooth. It's so engaging to read. I still wonder why she wasn't mentioned in the books. "adored and feared for her power a tremendous rage Lilith isn't winged". She's darkness herself.

You described the Lillith's story from the religious scriptures and folklore. But I enjoyed your creative words, your Lillith. "from depths of the underworld please mentor me, sweet soul, your insight will enlighten me Illuminate me with riddles of a nighttime domain she gladly bears me as a student" I enjoyed the music piece as well. GL in the contest, SP!

an enchanting and thorough recounting of the life and times of Lilith done with descriptive words and alliterative phrases. The fluidity of your poem made for an engaging read. I especially liked: "A goddess of the night, Lilith Her power, dark and enigmatic born not of Adam, but of clay unbridled spirit ineffable power she arose, as a figure of mystery" Superbly done, dear Sotto! Best wishes with the contest, your poetess friend in Texas, Sara
