Notes About The Poem

What Is Bright Light In Night Sky at Austin George blog

Light And Darkness

Light seems brightest when seen in the darkest dark.
Yet darkness can be all but eliminated by the brightness of light.
When in a balanced contrast, each is often seen clearer.

Although their differences when compared are quite stark,
Both darkness and light have the potential to provide great insight.
Each has qualities that can make things seem dearer.

Once while meditating on a bench in the park,
I had a sensation of my soul taking flight.
Wisdom and Truth suddenly seem nearer.

Through space and time, I flew like a lark.
I tried to remain there with all my might.
Guided by the light, I wasn’t the steerer.

From darkness or light, the Truth we’ll still see.
Truth is at home inside both you and me.
Guiding us through life to our destiny.

Bill, your poem beautifully captures the delicate dance between darkness and light—how each reveals the truth in its own profound way. I especially love the moment where you describe your soul taking flight; it felt so serene and transcendent, like a glimpse into something far beyond the physical. Your reflections are deeply grounding yet spiritually elevating...Hugs

I often lay on my bed at night and allow my spirit to ascent into the sparkling stars I see with my eyes shut. I float about in the wonders of space and listen for the words that ears can't here. I see things that eyes can't see, and they are revelations to me. I have an uncanny will to stay there in the peaceful beauty of Love. Blessings my friend, Bill

This esoteric or extra- terrestrial experience you had, beautifully illustrates that both light and darkness have their distinct qualities. Darkness in itself is not contemptible. In fact darkness accentuates light and both can reveal truth. When light guides us, we are not the steerers.... it carves its own path. Profound thoughts, dear Bill.

When anger controls our soul, we lose sight of the truth. It behoves us to search for God's truth be there be light or darkness. Truth leads to bliss.

Absolutely! All truth is already inside of us, apart of us. Mystic oneness with God is a beautiful practice. In the Silence, all is still...now I know the meaning of a word-drop, and the mystic voice of eternal sea. Great read, Bill. Thank you for sharing.
