Life's Longing Line
A seam,
where the world's skirt meets the sky's hem.
Not a true line,
but a trick of perspective,
a constant retreat.
We chase it,
in our minds, in our travels,
that distant, shimmering promise.
A boundary yet boundless,
holding the sun's fiery farewell,
and the moon's soft ascent.
It whispers of what lies beyond,
of journeys untaken,
of futures unwritten.
A reminder of vastness,
of our small place within it,
yet our endless capacity to dream towards it.
The horizon:
a perpetual invitation,
to look further.
