Life Walks
I have walked empty roads in loneliness, where only a single bird cries.
I have walked in an empty graveyard, where grief hovers as a smile dies.
I have walked through lighter days while joy and laughter sing a song.
These many miles brought lessons learned in the landscape all along.
I have walked easily, yet other times challenged by some physical pain.
All these walks in changing scenes with sun, snow and even heavy rain.
I have walked as I have listened, watched, breathed and quietly prayed.
For it is in these life ‘walks’, memories paved in the mind, have stayed.
