Life: To Learn From Turning Time

No spring flows forever, nor yet greens reign, From grass I try and learn raw persistence, From trees the truth of perennial patience, That no winter’s wellness withers in vain. If eyes to see, if I have ears to learn, No garden by winter's bite is deterred, Nor yet by spring is unduly flattered, Nature teaches this at life's every turn. That, fondest love springs from a feeling heart, There’s summer, aught we to know, in winter, As winter be in heart of all summer, To see goodness in evil makes life's art. Spring there’s or autumn else, good or evil, Time flows forth, turning Nature’s well-oiled wheel. _____________________________________________ Sonnets | 04.01.14 |
