Life Spent All Alone
Life spent all alone, my heart was not filled
With love to keep me warm, on the cold days
Instead there were races, memories spilled
To keep the pain alive, so many ways
All the fierce storms to battle in the years
So much time spent, just surviving to live
Sometimes all numb, other times weeping tears
While still trying to find so much more to give
Now, my boat is battered on the shoreline
There is no-one around to see me here
I would like to believe I will be fine
Maybe this island will erase my fear
Life spent all alone has taught me so much
There is no escape, but only a crutch
