Even though, the pain still smothers you like air, memories just strangle you, and you try, although you try, you fail, to put these pieces of you together..

so much truth in this poem of yours Wilma--life does go one whether we like it or not; there was a time that I felt it was so unfair for everything around me to be so alive, and I just feel so numb, the ironies of life I suppose-- and that's really a wonderful attitude to take, smiling despite that pain...wishing you the best in life! ok, really gotta go!!! byee

I admire the way you have learned to "smile despite the pain," Wilma. This is something I need to learn and you have given me much inspiration. Love, Carolyn

I'm afraid it's nothing that hasn't been said before. This is a good self-release of pent-up angst but if you want this poem to flourish, present it in a new way using alliteration or personification and a form of poetry that takes more effort (rhyming or diminished hexaverse or something.) I know this sounds really bad, but I am trying to help. I don't know how to make my constructive criticism any more graceful. Good luck.
