Life
A man once told me your burden isn’t your pain—
You must accept a loss in order to gain
Life is a prize that hasn’t been claimed—
Misused to mislead, misunderstood—
That’s what he said
I followed his words and studied his ways
We live for the moment and overlook the day
We cherish the memories, as the wise man would say
But listen closely my friend to what I’m about to say,
If there wasn’t a tomorrow, how would you live today?
Something to think about he said before I walked away
A question to be asked, but no answer for me to say
So I guess I’ll live my life like there’s no tomorrow
If I’m only promised today
