Licorice

Black licorice stick tastes very good. Each day for three weeks ate all she could. How dumb could she be? Very dumb was she — with its toxicity like wormwood. 4/29/2021

I like the red too but would never eat it for three weeks in a row. It is a rare treat not sustenance...lol. Hugs, lady!

Too much of a good thing. I used to love it but grew out of it. Didn't know how it was made.

Too much of a good thing! I like the cherry licorice but in limited quantity. I would eat some at the movies. Hugs.

Wormwood is the reason why the liquor called absinthe was prohibited from sale until just recently. I was not aware it was used in the making of licorice. I only know it was flavored with anise seeds and colored black with charcoal. Good poem.

It is just a comparison. Read a newspaper article where a woman ate a pack of black licorice for three weeks, ended up in hospital and found out a man had died from doing the same thing. Phew...
