i listen closely
for that little voice
the one inside my head
the one that’s sweet
that’s fun
and frivolous
there’s a little girl
dancing in my head
she’s fickle o so mischievous
she’s whimsical
and full of energy
always ready
and most willing
to come out
playfully
each and every day
