Let's Be Kind and Pass It On

Someone was very mean and persistent in response to my innocent blog and contest but let's not let it get out of hand. Thank you everyone for your support. I'm willing to forget all about it and move on. It's strange how my heart didn't break As someone tried to take me down Despite the fact I'd made a mistake Others dived in, didn't let me drown The error wasn't really that large I'd suggested poetic fun over form Only one issued a guilty charge Insisted I conform My poetry is a different kind Lead by heart and soul I can master most forms you'll find But that isn't actually my goal So perhaps they'll be "failed haiku" I really don't care that much But I am enriched by poetry too Despite perhaps my common touch I don't hold any bad feeling By the way you've picked and poked The way you acted was revealing Your attack quite unprovoked Now may we let the matter drop The contest is nearly done Please can all your meanness stop It's a personal opinion what is fun I don't wish for anyone to take sides But I'd like you to leave me alone Unfortunately opinion here divides Please don't make this a combat zone
