I truly cared about you
And this makes me very, very sad
Friendship, to you, seems a rather unimportant thing
To be tossed to the wind whenever any small thing
Doesn't fit your clock or requirements
I have been through hell of late
Not in a state that allowed sharing that negativity
With those I cared about, (for thoughtful purposes)
But once again, (this has happened before)
You decided my reticence HAD to be about rudeness
Or casualty, or indifference, or something horrible
(Even though you know me to be a personable and kind individual)
When indeed, it was out of caring ... for our friendship
Sadly, your answer to everything that doesn't fit your definitions
Is to block and block and block, and make sure you draw blood
Refusing not only the chance at explanation
But the opportunity that we, as humans, should offer everyone -
The chance to apologize and communicate and care
Clearly, my friendship was not valuable to you
For TRUE friends, at the very LEAST
Always allow those very basic kindnesses and communications
And the understanding that things happen
Beyond our control, that may appear incorrectly on our end
I'll never understand this kind of sensibility
For it encourages division and animosity and intolerance
It must be nice to have so many friends
That cutting ME loose means so little
Perhaps you should have a disclaimer on your pages
About your "Rules For Friendship" and strict requirements
So the next person who sees friendship a bit more realistically
And who values it far more than THIS
Has a fighting chance
May you find a way to open your heart
To truly lasting friendships
While mine has now closed ...
To this one.
