"The leaves of memory seemed to make a mournful rustling in the dark ..." by_ Henry W. Longfellow (The Drift of Drift-Wood)
I dream of you, at night when wind whispers and blows; and at dawn when the leaves stir in the dew Oh, when you died my heart froze ! Now, I find you down a path in a place of tears, we had promised a love that would last a thousand years. Oh, the mournful pain- how it sears ! How will I ever forget my love's eyes of blue ? ____________________ October 21, 2021 Poetry/Rhyme/Leaves of Memory Copyright Protected, ID 10-1398-867-21 All Rights Reserved, 2021, Constance La France

Constance, I found this piece very concise and wonderfully crafted, but as I read, I flood it a waterfall of feeling, taking me along beyond the language and lines. I was totally captured. My husband has such blue eyes. Sometimes I picture me without hum & his eyes then my tears start. A splendid pen xox sally
