Leave me alone, Lord, and I'm free
to do all things against Your will
with pride of self-righteousness glee
then soon grieve midst destruction hill.
As my flesh craves for stardom vain
leave me alone, Lord, and I'm free
neglecting tasks, giving me pain
while struggling, since to nought I flee.
As Your child, I have faith to see
Your great blessings that always flow
leave me alone, Lord, and I'm free
toward loss*, missing mercy's glow.
I pray, keep me in Your love's nest
fulfilling what my best should be
repentant for saying, not blest…
“leave me alone, Lord, and I'm free.”
*1Corinthians 3:15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
