Return To the Sixties

Brush off today for no real reason or rhyme and return to one special point in time. Reliving my senior year, life at its prime, Planning for college, an auspicious climb; The focus had changed from my family to peers. Now recalling classmates, not seen in years awakens my heart and brings a few tears. Knowledge "gained", we were Pilgrim pioneers. While true wisdom was often underplayed, ev'ry new conquest was a check mark made to ready us for adulthood's upgrade. Ready to conquer the world, or so we thought. from seventeen to seventy; I've been overwrought but still learning to learn; life was not for naught. Return to the present for real reason and rhyme evaluate today as a special point in time. Appreciate each moment, collect thoughts sublime. In fifty more years, in our memories may they chime. Your monorhyme is meaningful and beautiful, Reason. I especially loved this line; 'but still learning to learn; life was not for naught.' Awesome! Your last stanza makes for a thoughtful and excellent finale. Warmest wishes always.. ~Susan
