Lazy Moisture
drastically daring &
dripping off the edge of a leaf
that has somehow made it to the end of autumn without changing
like the strongest individual you’ve ever known in your life---
someone with stage 4 cancer laughing in spite of it all,
with faith in absolutely nothing that they are told about possible positive
progress---
someone swimming against the current
up river &
with arms thrashing through the white water whipping whilst watchers wade
beside the lacking evidence of
pain---
this last final droplet of last night’s rain
about to dive out into the plain of oblivion
says goodbye to the storm that bore it &
hello to the ground way down below that it will soon
nurture &
help to create anew.
