Lawful Pilot
As an adult I often reminisce
Of the days when my father
Would leave with a kiss.
My superhero then
And still to this day
He had two jobs
Firstclass to me Id say
He upheld the law
His uniform told you so
His gun in the holster
Always on the go.
Sometimes I would ride
The speed gave me a rush
I felt above the law
Peoples dreams he often crushed
I was a mini soldier
I grew up tough and strong
I beat up the boys
In the playground if I was wronged
He also flew the sky
His captain hat on tight
He controlled the plane
He always did it right.
At times I would get
To ride along too
Bragging to people
My Dad is driving you.
I loved the airport
Like my second home
I felt secure there
I belonged in that zone
Others looked up to him
Like he was a God
He lead the sky and ground
With that grin and little nod.
The treasures he would bring
From all around the globe
Pajamas from Japan
And to match a nice silk robe.
I missed him all the time
His life was on the run
But he never once forgot
To make me smile like the sun.
