Last Night
Last night I had a dream
That a white and color shook hands
And thought nothing of it
Last night I had a dream
That the world took up peace
And destroyed the bombs
Last night I had a dream
That we had no use for trees
And the earth thanked me and crowned me fairy queen
Last night I had a dream
That everyone was ready for birth
And the children of tomorrow were born today
Last night I had a dream
That people learned to be gentle
And the animals were sent to roam free
Last night I had a dream
That someone read a book of Indian ways
And vowed to follow them
Last night I had a dream
That a person chose a new religion
And wasn’t punished for believing
Last night I had a dream
That everyone was cured of AIDS
And no one had to live in fear
Last night I had a dream
That people weren’t afraid of the beyond
And went willingly when it was time
Last night I had a dream
That people learned to except
And nothing had to be perfect
Last night I had a dream
That people earned respect
And people willingly gave it
Last night I had a dream
That this wasn’t just a dream
And the world wasn’t starving for perfection
Last night I had a dream
That brought me to my senses
And I went to the world and tried to make my dreams come true
