Listen to poem:
Forearm mops the toil
underneath unyielding sun
pelted denim over the shoulder of blame
only form of communication
a fragment written upon
signed with a kiss, red lipstick
No name
Gravel and sand, boots starting to cut into the skin
Gone this far, not one goddamn cactus
Scavengers circling above
This soul shall not be left for the desert
We'll venture on...
Dusty sweat, glancing ahead
Within the haze of the scorching heat
a silhouette
My prayers have been answered
Could almost mistake him as my twin
we start to head in the same direction
....a quiet man, blessing
To my surprise
a cry from behind
"wait for me" one said
lets continue on...
I gotta break the silence
simultaneously they reach into their pockets
Same fragments, same lipstick
They whisper "The lady in red".
Aqua in the face, what is?
mirage?
maybe not....
Sealed with a kiss.
