Lacy Fingers of Ice

Dainty lacy fingers of ice like crocheted filigrees Are creeping across the cold, blue windowpane, Like tri-mast ocean schooners on stormy seas Dainty lacy fingers of ice like crocheted filigrees A tiny spider is brought to its tiny fragile knees Trying to find a bit of warmth, I’m afraid, in vain Dainty lacy fingers of ice like crocheted filigrees Are creeping across the cold, blue windowpane.

Second Triolet I've read today, Milt. I think I like this form. Yours is a good one with the ice creeping across the pane and the spider's plight unknown. I enjoyed the read. Thanks for sharing, Bill

Brrr, reminds me of my first house that was single glazed and when we had harsh winters the inside glass inside had a coating of ice on it. Pretty patterns though. Tom

And that was cold!!!! I can't remember ice forming on the insides of the windows, but we had only one coal stove heating our whole house. Times were mighty different then.

Like crocheted filigrees--golden chains. Purple lips on tiny spider are the image I get. I agree, should come to California

No thanks, I Am Anaya. I expect it to drop into the Pacific anytime now, or, perhaps be inundated with a powerful tsunami. (chuckling). I love the hills!

Loved the imagery. Too bad tiny spider can't come to L.A. 75 degrees with 5 mile an hour winds!

It probably would if something it could cling to was headed that way. Even me! At least temporarily. My favorite place in California is San Diego. I lived in San Francisco for about six months. It was too breezy, rainy, and chilly, as I recall.
