La llorona
La llorona
Oh La llorona,
The spirits of your children weep for thee
At the stump of the whomping willow tree
Down by the same riverbank you ended their young lives
Their souls unable to find rest, as a result of your cries
Your spirit roam the earth searching for them
Your vengeful eyes on other children
Oh La llorona,
Give up the search
Your legend has been on a stretch
Your story told to generations born and yet unborn
Breeding fears in infants and adult alike
Days fly by, faster than a speeding bike
For the night comes to be wary of your fearful eyes
And so the legend goes
Of the weeping woman with no soul
Who drowned her children out of her misery
The myth of her disappearance still remains a mystery
Oh La llorona do not weep
Your curse is broken by water's deep
Forgive and rest and let them sleep
The pain you feel is yours to keep
