Komorebi

the answers are here I feel them, though they don't reach my skin gentle dappling tapping code directly into my retina my senses scream to absorb everything but no more can be found simply delivered in little light filled droplets transcendence removing all interpretation I know I was there, I know I saw words are insufficient to explain "I like the green" I say the mysteries of the universe, wasted on me there's a tunnel, there's wonder time is lost but not I was told something, but I forgot pieces of peace scattered and fell on me

i'm just getting round to comments as i've been off site..this is one of my personal favourites on the winners' list, i love it, it has a dreamy, alice-fallen-down-the-rabbit-hole quality about it.."tapping code directly into my retina", and that last stanza, superb, "pieces of peace" great wordplay! congrats on your contest win :) btw i also loved your entry for the poe/plath contest..

Thanks C! I was a big fan of my Poe/Plath haha - I might carry that one round and hand it out to strangers til it gets the recognition it deserves haha thanks for your stunning comment, always a joy x

I love the many layers of interpretation your poem invites, DD. Perfect in not telling us what to think, but leaving the door open for us after painting the scene. Congratulations :)

Thank you Suzette - I did worry using the absence of understanding couldn't be conveyed and I'd just look like I'd lost the plot (or appeared to be suggesting I'd been abducted by aliens) haha glad you got it, I appreciate the supportive and insightful comment

The depth and breadth with which you undertake this topic is beyond impressive. Your descriptions of the tension created by ineffable things is most skillfully handled, particularly in the final stanza. There is something quite breathtaking about the way you're trying to remember enlightenment throughout, all the while leading the search with your senses <3 ....off to work on a second draft of my own now!!

Well I'm quite pleased with my little self to receive a comment like this - yes I was trying to do all the things you describe but you make it sound so clever! Thank you - I'd fave this comment if there was such a thing :)

the seems like a 'personal' poem that rambles as does your heart and thoughts.

It's for a contest Sara, Craig the sponsor looks for things that stand apart, so I let my mind freewheel to see what appeared. I was feeling rather than describing but hoping to convey more by apparently comprehending less - hard to know if it works for everyone but otherwise the risk is 35 identical poems. Thanks for your comment x

Thank you, appreciate your comment. This type of light is so beautiful, it just felt better to immerse rather than describe :)

Beautifully written Dilly, like Jan I had to google the impressive title, this one’s definitely on the surreal side, perhaps the way I might describe a dream one cannot quite recall, but know deep down it made perfect sense at the time, you take the reader to the edge once again, cheers David

You're too kind David, I adore the light that shines through trees - an absolute favourite thing. I was worried I rushed into writing without thinking but hopefully that's what works. Thank you for your comment

I had to google the word Dilly, so much wisdom in your words and your poem is a super description. hugs jan xx

Thank you Jan, it's for Craig's contest but I haven't entered yet as this was a first instinct. I do feel a little unworthy and slightly confused by the beauty of dappled light through trees - it's spiritual without any effort at all. Far too special to just walk through but that's what we do. Thanks for your comment x
