Killing Two Birds

Today’s a day to celebrate But most do not observe; It’s Squirrel Appreciation Day, Which they don’t quite deserve. Just rodents with appealing tails, They’re tricky birdseed thieves And once a squirrel finds your yard, He never really leaves. It’s also National Hug Day, Named in 1986. To honor both these holidays, You might be in a fix. Yet here’s a good solution – If a squirrel is in sight, Just grab his tail and give a hug But careful – he may bite!

hahaha, I KNEW where you were going with this one. But just hugging the tail, that was creative!! And just think Squirrels are huge TREE HUGGERS!!

Former next door neighbors had a pear tree in their yard, and the squirrels used to eat the pears in the tree. The neighbors became very handy with a BB gun. Another great write as usual.

:) Smiled all the way through this ilene. There's a picture somewhere in the family achives of my Dad sitting in the backyard with a squirrel climbing down over his shoulder to get a peanut. Sweet little rats. :) You do teach so much in your poems. Appreciate and enjoy. Peace. :)
