What I'm tryng to say here is that if we don't make room in our day to day life for The One who created that life to begin with nothing will have much meaning. We are born, we grow up, we get married, we have children of our own, we get older, we die. Where is the rhyme or reason behind any of it? Why are we here? Has our passing meant anything? What was it all for? It only matters if we know Jesus Christ as a very real and vibrant part of our life. It is the only thing that makes a difference. It is the only thing that makes it all worth while. As a child my life was pretty miserable. My mother didn't know Jesus and made it plain she didn't want to. She wanted to be her own master, captain of her own ship so to speak. I remember her as angry and forceful. We were poor because Mom didn't even want a husband around to tell her what to do. She had no education so she couldn't support us very well. As a result we had barely enough to get us by. Life was dull and empty. I grew up thinking there had to be something more to life, something better. I started going to a Catholic school with money sent by my father. There I got acquainted with organized religion. I became Catholic and my mom made fun of me for it but it was some kind of order in my life so I clung to it. I got a job and started trying to improve my life and because I was trying to reach out to Him He reached out to me and made my life better. It hasn't been an easy life but it's better than what I had. Sometimes I think if I hadn't had My Lord in my life I'd be crazy by now. I have learned that God doesn't make your problems go away but He does give you the wisdom and the courage you need to get through it and He will take you through it.
