Khia's Sonnet (Australian Sonnet)

As piercing shadows lay across the sand, there, in a single beam of silver light, I saw her dance and marvelled at the sight from where I stood behind the old bandstand. The most beautiful girl I've ever seen she is my dream could I but take a chance to hold her tight and find the wild romance instead of grasping odes of might have been. To run my fingers through her silken hair mayhaps to share a kiss or talk of things all through the night until the sunrise sings but 'what if' never got me any where. My chance of love I have to take and soon as lady dances neath the wild moon.
