Notes About The Poem

répéter-repeat in French. Why was it used? I took French back in High School for 3 years and sometimes it comes to mind, mon amie (my friend). Funny how life changes. I would never have guessed that for 3 years plus (as long as the Lord blesses my Dad with good health) that I would drive back and forth about once a week to his house. It is a day trip! Usually an hour there and 1 1/2 hours back. God gives us the grace to do what is needed without much thought, just do it, because we love. Have a fantastic week!

Keeper of the House


keeper of the house,
the toilet sparkler,
the bowl pristine
inside and out ready
to be esteemed.
the sink’s polished white,
the grime and dust, binned.
the shower, scoured,
rinsed, repeat.
repétér, Sam,
i’m not a slave.
‘tis an honor.

This especially has to do with cleaning my Dad’s house as well as my own. Careful attention must be paid to those who are elderly and alone. God’s grace gives us all that we need to do his work, whether mundane or otherwise. God bless!
