Keep Extra Clothes At Work
I have been chilling all day thanks to wet slacks and socks and soaking wet tennis shoes this morning when I said okay to car line duty - not my day.
I would have worn thick wool socks and boots if I had known ahead of time but I did not because no one gives you any notice when they do not show up
Miss repeated No-Show did call my phone after I was at school
After my cell phone was turned off
And cozily sitting in my glove box
I have asked her a million times
To call me at six before I leave my house
Of course she cannot
As she does not wake up until seven
I figured this out myself
As she flies in complaining
About the traffic when she does show up
Which is pretty often just not daily
Her hair is wet from a shower when she arrives
Even on the hottest days
And I know that her drive is at least twenty-five minutes
I am determined now to keep boots at school along with
My six coats, scarf, fur hat and three pairs of gloves
And a couple of pair of warm fluffy wool socks
As soon as I find some
