Friends) People we need order; Brothers stop all this disorder; Can’t put a quarter, in the jukebox ain’t got no more two-bits for a soda; F.B.I. men In Wounded Knee; What is the world comin to, golly… Freedom they say What it may Bring it in, send it away Got my chains on I’m unshackled we need just one more tax on our tobacco. We need laws, laws, laws greeting peace, peace, peace to the people (Hi! Friends) We need laws, laws, laws greeting peace, peace, peace to the people (Hi! Friends) We need laws, laws, laws greeting peace, peace, peace to the people (Hi! Friends) Freedom they say, all men gotta right to be free; Freedom they say, all men have got to be free, what about me; Society still judges man by his color and just where did he come from There’s no war goin on over there in Vietnam, just a disagreement bout liberty’s freedom; Meat prices goin up; Pollution coming down Talkin bout how we need to pay more taxes; Federal funding are being stop; Unjust police COPS; While farmers are worried about who’s getting his crops; While Dow and Jones both wonder whose gonna sell stock My monies being deadlock Everybody worried about riots in the springtime We need laws, laws, laws greeting peace, peace, peace to the people (Hi! Friends) We need laws, laws, laws greeting peace, peace, peace to the people (Hi! I would not have believed this a few years ago, but I am a believer now. "what about me; society still judges man by his color and just where did he come from". I am a sad believer. President Obama and his family brought so much dignity and grace and presidential magnificence to the office. When are we going to talk about that? Because it matters.
