Just Passing By
I was just passing by the side of the house
When a thorn
On a winter rose bush
Snagged my coat
I walked on without thought
But then I’d swear a summer ghost spoke
That sudden sense
As though a scarlet petal brushed my hand
As though its breath warmed my face
Memory
Ah memory in the snow
