Just Imagine
Imagine life that has no pitfalls
No shades of light or darkness at all
No excitement, no purposiveness
Only a perpetual dullness.
Wouldn't we find it rather grim and flat
Terribly humdrum to live so drat
Imagine no trees, grass or flowers
To admire on this planet of ours.
So we must count blessings every day
Family and friends made on our way
The creator's staggering masterpiece
Wonders of Earth, that will never cease.
On life's journey we'll have made mistakes
Many ups and downs, many heartbreaks
Miseries come into life's jigsaw
Then happiness walks back through the door.
At times it happens, death comes too soon
Gone to up where there's prepared a room
Where loved ones rest and silently wait
To greet our rise to the pearly gates.
We'll not walk alone on this journey
There's light that shines with love and mercy
From the one knowing all human traits
Who guides us with ineffable grace.
