Just He and I

I had a dog for fifteen years... His name was Cat He was my pal When I think of him, my eyes drip tears... From this and that He was my friend We'd walk alone... Just he and I Everyday That old soft heart... Just he and I We would play We'd run in the park Till it got dark Then, we would drive and we would park... On an old dirt road We'd play in the snow And wouldn't you know He'd be my pillow... When I got cold He was my pal For fifteen years When I think of him My eyes drip tears He was my pal He was my friend We would play Everyday Just he and I

I had a dog called Coco, who my husband named her Mary like the nursery rhyme about Mary who had a little lamb, and every where that Mary went, the lamb went too - she broke my heart a beautiful brown lab with liquid green eyes died from leukemia at 3 years old. I still cry when I think of her, so I appreciated your poem so much and cried with you for your loss of loved pet. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer. Jennifer.

A poem I will never forget because it brought back so many memories of the dogs who owned me and I loved them so. Thanks for sharing, Charles.

Thanks for reading, Milton. I too have had dogs that owned me my entire life. They become our children...I have had 3 golden retrievers, 1 beagle (my first) and now a Multi-poo. Seems like you and I both know the meaning "A man's best friend" All the best my friend. Charlie

Hey, Charlie. Tough loss there... Interesting name for a dog, too --- Justy. Rhymes with Rusty, eh? lol. Cheers, Gershon

Hello Charles Massina, A dog is man's best friend. so they say. also part of the family. It is hard to lose a pet. You do have fond memories of your dog. perhaps one day you will get another dog. When the time is right. Enjoy your evening my friend.

Hi Darlene, Yes for sure a dog is a man's best friend. I have had a few in my life. They become our children. We will always have our memories to cherish. BTW, time was right, I now have a multi-poo (Twixx). Enjoy your day my dear friend. Charlie
