Just by chance I learned that classmates are not always kind. Just by chance I learned that I love key lime pie. It is my favorite dessert sixteen years later. Just by chance I learned that relatives do not always have your back. Just by chance I learned my boyfriend was cheating on me and dumped him a few minutes later. Just by chance I learned about poetry, and cannot stop writing it now. Just by chance I learned that I cannot learn Spanish. Three times I learned this with three different teachers. Just by chance I met the right man and married him after realizing he always has my back, and can keep a confidence. Just by chance I learned that I am not only a cartoonist, but I am also a painter. Just by chance I learned that what a school counselor does I was already doing as a volunteer. Just by chance I learned that babies and dogs love you to pieces no matter how you behave, and they want to be in your lap. Just by chance I learned that your life is what you make it. That you cannot control what happens to you but you can control how you react. Just by chance I learned that your mind is a powerful tool, and that your imagination can draw the best things your way. I have counted on chance all of my life, and she has never let me down.
