Just Because

Just because you don’t see me doesn’t mean I’m not there. Just because you don’t know me doesn’t mean I’m unknown. Just because you can’t relate to me doesn’t mean I can’t relate to you. Just because you don’t love me doesn’t mean I don’t love you.

You have certainly put the 'Care' in Caren. Profound, haunting write, O Philosopher-Queen. Blessings, Gershon

One of my schools nicknamed me the CareBear. I was riffed after reporting that the gym teacher was snapping little girls' bras, the principal adjusted himself in front of two sobbing 13 year old girls and I and another male teacher was making sexual advances toward 11 year old girls. When I tried to tell the female superintendent she told me she did not want to hear it, and I was riffed. So I left all of my notes with the nurse, who had lived in the community for 33 years, and did not know any of it. This was my first counseling job, and it took her 5 years, but I am proud to say she got rid of them all after they got rid of me. I was an intern, and my college mentor told me "You are the bravest woman I have ever met. I cannot believe you took the entire 'system' on." Had she met me?

Thank you Line. I was drawing a bath, and I sat down and typed it straight out of my heart; it took 2 minutes.
