What a pretty poem. Your imagery is wonderful. I am an August baby and almost named my daughter August. Your third line is my absolute favorite, it is fun to read outloud. I enjoyed this so much, it is truly lovely.

I really do enjoy and appreciate nature poems but I am not too good good at doing them. As I mentioned in my previous comment, your passion for nature always, produces gems. It's been relatively mild here with a couple heat waves to date. September is usually our hottest month... we shall see

We've had 4 heat waves over this summer (defined as two or more days in a row of over 90 degrees) and one more coming next week, but it's been mostly pleasant, how's serene San Diego doing?
