Judging and Worth

I read some poems Judged winners elsewhere In the real world And it cast such a shadow upon My own efforts But then I remembered I'm just an attempting poet In the same way someone Might win an arm wrestle Against the strong man Sometimes At the fair I'm not an enthusiast or a scholar Of this art I put in the moments Not the hours I'm in it for cathartic purposes And then a little Of the external validation (Which I claim to be trying to quit)
