Judgement Day

when judgement day comes
where will you stand how will you answer
when the questions are asked
by the seven heavenly angels sitting in judgement

what did you do to make the world a better place
did you love or hate your life and others
were you a good parent and a good person
were you a heartless felon
did you commit a crime or crimes
did you do illegal drugs or drink alcohol to excess raising your middle finger
to the life God gave to you
did you bring harm to others
did you accept Jesus as your personal savior

how will you answer these questions and more
will your answers open the gate to heaven
or will the judgement be to send you to hell

will the light of heaven show you the way to your salvation for eternity
or will the fires of hell light your way for eternity
Do you have any idea about your destiny?

I will say that I am not worthy and that I am thankful for my Saviour’s sacrifice. The way I live my life is my expression of appreciation for the gift and Love that God and Jesus have blessed me with. I am not able to earn my salvation. I like that thispiece has caused me to ponder. Also congrats on POTD. Blessings Richard.

We would all fail to enter the perfect gates of heaven. Jesus breached the gap — the perfect sacrifice— when we trust Him he wraps us with His righteousness! Congratulations on POTD and the pondering this poem brings :)

What I find ironic is so many religions do not believe in hell or the devil no punishment for doing evil in their minds. Does that mean that Hitler could be standing next to Jesus. Or others that have harmed and murdered a lot of innocent people. I believe the bible has made it perfectly clear that their is a hell and a devil. We all know evil exists and should be punished.

Well said!!! Take the parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus. In Luke 16:19-31. (NASV) The Rich man went to Hades (Hell) after he died and Lazarus was carried to Abraham's Bosom. After he died. (Which is in Heaven, as Abraham was with God) There is a Heaven and a Hell. In this passage- it clearly states this, and that there is a great gulf between the two. ~ Brandy

All will be judged. No one is exempt from this appointment. 2 Corinthians 5:10 (KJV) Hebrews 9:27 (KJV) and there are other verses in God's Word for references. You are right Dennis. We all must give an account for our actions. Whether good or bad. John 14:3 (KJV) "I will come again and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there you may be also" Only His Children. And, this place being "Heaven" Your thoughts hold so much truth. Congratulations Dennis, on Poem of the Day. ~ Brandy

Hi Dennis, a nicely worded pastoral poem. Personally, I can only judge myself, never entering the court of deity. My destiny is sadly to die, kindest regards, Kevin
