Joy From the Lord
Oh, soul, are you tired
midst struggles over guilt?
sin-sick, tortured with past regrets…
imprisoned inside gloom of frustration
mocked by oppressive hypocrisy’s arrogance?
Be of good cheer!!!
God is compassionate … offering His love
…supreme kindness that brings pardon to confessed iniquities
marvelous forgiveness granting genuine joy
yes, joy that anchors strength---
Trust Him:
bask in His blessed bliss
packed with redemption assurance
sealed upon eternal life’s settlement
toward heavenly race; verily triumphant!
Oh, heart, are you weary
enduring while persevering to wait?
impatient along restlessness’ anguish…
discontented against satisfaction bouts
as covetousness and jealousy persist to prevail?
Be comforted!!!
The Lord is gracious … reaching out by His mercy
… sublime pity of sufficiency-fullness to vanquish greed’s attacks
enabling fiery revival bursting with exuberance glow
for praise-propped worshipful gratefulness---
Cling to Him:
be propelled by His omnipotence
keep praying, finding pleasure in His fellowship
exercising faith that fortifies reaching-out gladness
while generously sharing the precious salvation-joy of the Lord*!
*Nehemiah 8:10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.
