Damn… I don’t have any tattoos…. So it’s just wrinkles and scars for me…. I shall call them ‘laughter lines’ and ‘event markers’ ;-). I love this, Sara, and yes, the tattoo gag is priceless!

Dear SARA, it is an inherent truth that each of us is destined to navigate a prescribed journey from our initial breath to our final moments. Within this journey, we are acutely aware that we will encounter arduous trials, with the process of aging often being regarded as the most formidable. Yet, it is a reality that one can evade. I must commend you on your fastidious application of metaphors to paint pictures through the medium of language. Your talent in these areas is truly exceptional.

You wrote such wise words, dearest Sotto. I agree. We're destined to navigate our journeys..knowing trials will come and go. Yes, aging is a bit of a harsh reality but one we can't avoid. Drats! :-) Thank you for your thoughtful words about my application of metaphors. Your vocabulary delights me; grateful for your words and your take on things. Enjoy your evening, Sara

Oh wow this is so true and so soul hitting, life and reality of life and aging comes with so much more than what we can even describe but you’ve summed it all up eloquently in few lines! How clever and profound is the way you deliver your thoughts! I really love the line “ life journeys on our bodies like a butcher knife“ powerful line really! That hits so strong! “ ailments, and the occasional tattoo“ occasional tattoo thats unique! I love how versatile you are as a poet! Another original poem

I can so relate to this poem. We age and leave so many marks as proof we're getting old. Blessings.

A fitting image to your poem dear Sara... we journey through life and its burdens can have their effect on our mental and physical nature... despite all the treatments and all the lotions it eventually catches up on you..

I appreciate you stopping by, Silent One. Yes, if we're lucky we have the opportunity to journey through old age. For some, the effects are profound, sometimes with pain and suffering. We all go there eventually despite the creams, etc. Aging is a humbling thing. Have an enjoyable day, Sara
