There were nights when I had to roam Running from thoughts, fervent, alone Unsure why I would leave my home Friends would pray for my forlorn soul Moments spent watching a pale moon Often my heart would ache and groan To joy it seemed I was immune Friends would pray for my forlorn soul There were precious wonders I missed Silence lost on hopes I’d bemoan Dread filled me up with doubts I kissed Friends would pray for my forlorn soul Shadows filled with darkest dangers Vicious aches for which I’d atone My journey bizarre as strangers Friends would pray for my forlorn soul Prayers were answered, praise let voice Angels gathered around God’s throne Worshipping Him as we rejoice Friends would pray for my forlorn soul J Contest Sponsored by: Constance La France September 11, 2021

Great poem and entry for the contest. I like the Kyrielle form, and I just used it once. I must try it again.
