Journal Iii - July 4th

JOURNAL III – July 4th At 6:00 in the morning The firecrackers are popping Every kid in the neighborhood has a few packages So do I The big red salutes will blow a tin can 20 feet high These babies will also blow off fingers The zebra I lit and held too long Made my whole hand numb and hurt a lot I was lucky I was scarred but little else The explosives seen in the news from Iraq are something else Frightening! – will I escape the devastation these last few?
