Jill Nursery Rhyme Contest
Sponsor- Charles Messina
~ Placed Third~

Jill and Jane were bosom friends. Both of them had similar trends. In acts of daring, they were together. But Jane was quite cunning and clever. One day they planned to go down the dale. Difficult it was climbing down the sloppy vale. They knew there was ripe strawberry. The thoughts of having it made them merry. Sad, Jill slipped down and tore her thighs Jane didn’t seem to care and ignored her cries. Combing the bushes, Jane gathered all the berry. Leaving Jill in pain, she stole away in hurry!

Dearest Valsa, inspiring poetess, your golden pen captures both delight and deceit. "Jill and Jane were bosom friends./Both of them had similar trends./In acts of daring, they were together./But Jane was quite cunning and clever."/ Your first stanza sets up the spirit of their friendship and escapade with poetic finesse.. a vibrant rhyme with such a bitter twist in the end. Poor Jill.. unfortunately we've all known a "Jane". Warmest wishes my sweet poetess friend.. ~Susan

Not fair but life sometimes isn't Valsa. Sometimes you find out who your friends are. This is a great example of such. Thanks for sharing Dear Valsa...

Not for ever bosom pals, Jill found out the hard way, but though physically hurt I'm sure she was glad that Jane after all allowed her to see, through her so called friend. Great message in your wonderful poem dear friend, but it came at a cost to Jill. Unfortunately, there are a great many Jane's in this world of ours. Blessings and hugs dear Valsa. Jennifer.

Dear sweet valsa, i love the storytelling in your rhyme and how it flows with such catchy rhymes. You do that very well always. Jill and jane always together but jane being always the cunning and clever one youv shown that here in your poem. Poor Jill, the ending made me feel for her pain. Best wishes for the contest~ pleasure reading your poem today. sending you light always…
