Jesus Is In My Heart
I do not fear the Jesus of my childhood
I loved sitting in Sunday School reveling in his songs.
“Jesus Loves Me Yes I Know
For the Bible tells me so.”
My sister and I both tried to out sing the church.
Sometimes they won.
Sometimes we did.
We loved the hymns we knew!
Fear Jesus? No way. He is in my heart.
A big part of my soul, always on standby.
I can call on Him, knowing He will be there.
He has saved me in two car wrecks, hasn’t He?
Two car wrecks where I expected to die.
Actually put out my arms and said
“Bring me home, God. I have had the best life.
I love you!” I was disappointed to still be here both times.
Revere God, certainly.
Be in awe of Him, respect him, and seek his guidance….
Always. But fear him? Are you out of your soul?
He is as much as me as my cells, my heart, my mind.
“Yes, Jesus Loves me.
Yes Jesus Loves me.
Yes, Jesus loves me.
The Bible tells me so!”
