Jagged Horizon

I can not say the way I feel Too unraveled, too unreal I seem a range Of contorted and strange Jagged, the horizon lies Untying the stars and skies Moon and sun, between them keep Heavy hours of uncaught sleep Madness moves in lacy gray Where coy slumber declines to stay Mumbled noises seek amends As the feathered weight descends 3/23/22

Michelle, you have created the gloomy innerscape matching with the external landscape. Sleep deserts a troubled mind and mind becomes cloudy ! Wonderful use of images to delineate a disturbed mind.

Dear Michelle, what moody ambience your creative pen creates! I especially love "Jagged, the horizon lies / Untying the stars and skies" - Just stunning! A frame of mind and body defined. Your amazing artistry captures the woes of insomnia and your last line a grand finale to a vivid piece! Congratulations for your wonderful win in Constance's contest. Warmest wishes, my friend.. ~Susan

Wonderful writing, Michelle. You are an artist with word combinations and inventive phrases, "Jagged Horizon", "Convoluted, meek and strange", "Untying the stars and skies", "feathered weight" among my favorites. You capture a mood so well. Congrats for your win ~ John

Special & superb, as always Sis Michelle. But somehow stanza 3 causes concern. Insomnia? Unable to stop thinking ... Watch each breath & caount ins & outs (no sheep - just a Good Shepherd for shalom sleep). With apology for indulging ... Anil
