I'Ve Shut You Out

You say yes. I yell no, silently, in my head; But I do not answer aloud. Whoever says come, makes me go. Whoever says now, slows my feet. Whoever says please, has no idea. I'll not do it, especially If I know it might please you. I have to have some control over my pathetic life. If you give me two choices, I silently laugh. Determined not to do either now. If you call it a house, I call it a home. If you try to make me, I will break you. I don't have anything to lose. You can't touch me. Because the monster already has. I barely hear your voice, whiny, and irritated. No idea what you're saying. I've already shut you out. My abject defiance is the only way to shut out the rage.

Piercing, penetrating, and ultimately poignant. A sobering narrative, Caren. Every man should read it---every real man, that is. Blessings, Gershon
