It's Too Late

If only I could find a way to understand The things you did The choices you made What you gave up to protect yourself I will never understand So my acceptance must be this That you could not love You could not keep your children safe Over time your wall of lies became so high I couldn’t see you anymore Somehow you’ve made yourself believe That everything was alright That everything is alright Passing blame like flame to survive Never stopping once to think What you could have had If only, I could show you, but it’s too late Heidi Sands 5/30/17
