It's Been a Year,
It’s been a year,
It's been a year since i've seen your warming smile
It's been a year since i've seen your beautiful brown hair
It’s been a year since i've heard your voice
It’s been a year since i've felt your hugs
It’s been a year since i've seen you
Where did you go?
‘in a better place.’
Is it true?
I don’t really believe it
I refuse to believe it
I refuse to believe that my last hug i gave you was also your last
I refuse to believe that the cycle of bad things happening to good people is neverending
I refuse to believe that i let you walk away just for it to be the last time i ever saw you breathing
It’s been a year since you vanished.
It’s been a year since your face was plastered everywhere
But not in the way you’ve wanted since you were a kid
Instead, in a way that brought society to tears
Instead, in a way that people closest to you could never forget
It has only been a few months,
A few months since the overwhelming feeling finally sunk in.
Everyday after that day, i still woke up ready to see you at school
But your seat was empty.
