Wettened by the mornings dew
Closely spaced where rows of roses grew
Footprints stained the cobblestone
Where my love and I had walked, alone
My beau dropped down on bended knee
He whispered, “Darling, will you marry me,
This twisted blade of grass is just a token ring
Take my hand, let’s go and buy the real thing”!
