You'll need to examine every emotional feeling that you have ever felt
to determine if they have had any long lasting impact upon your life.
Fear’s a definite contender, brandishing a surefire instant impact
but, fear's a temporary kind of feeling that doesn't really last.
Hope's indisputable impact, gradually dwindles with time
And happiness, is a fleeting feeling you’ll experience
only intermittently during the course of your life.
Yet, you will chase after it long after it is gone
as sadness dissolves into an ocean of tears.
Empathy and sympathy, cloistered within
metamorphosis, into a snide smile
having no real impact anymore.
Hate and anger lessen in time
failing to maintain control.
When seeking a lasting
impact on your life
without a doubt
it all comes
down to
love.
